Medieval Christmas Market
For one weekend, the medieval era comes to life at the Rhine Falls. The Christmas market will take place on both sides of the Rhine, with two castles and the thundering waterfall providing an impressive backdrop for this unique market experience.
Friday to Sunday - 20 to 22 November 2026
Experience the colourful hustle and bustle of the market, with performers, jesters, storytellers and medieval music. Among market stalls, fire pits and the sounds of the medieval era, visitors of all ages can discover a varied programme in a festive pre-Christmas atmosphere.
Market Areas:
Schlössli Wörth grounds, Neuhausen am Rheinfall (SH)
Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall grounds, Dachsen (ZH)
Discover both market areas on a circular route:
Walk across the SBB railway bridge over the Rhine (approx. 20 minutes), or cross the Rhine by ferry (fee applies, approx. 5 minutes),
or combine both options.
The boat landing stage at Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall can only be reached via a natural stone staircase.
